What would it be like if we actually won the World Cup?

You can bet your life a large proportion of them will never go to a football match, and all of a sudden they are experts on the game

You don’t have to go to live games to know about football. You can watch hundreds of games a season in your living room.

Ok, I'll rephrase, they don't give a toss about football

Its not that they dont know anything about football, but they act like they are the most hardcore football supporters, i get sick and tired of local people when you say you support Rovers, to a response of "Rovers, their shit", its a sad state of affairs.

I once had a response back of "But what Premiership team do you support?"

That really winds me up too.

I suppose it reinforces the difference between a fan and a supporter.
I don't see what anyone gets out of being an armchair fan of a PL club.

... at least they stayed off the Buses roof ths time !

It does show as Wesisback pointed out there IS a huge pool of potential Fans to be tapped "if we could get it right" but on the flip side as Gazlaz points out "they can watch hundreds of games without leaving home"

We live in a town of 303,000 then you add on that the surrounding areas such as Haworth, Retford, etc, etc we've got a massive potential when you consider the size of Burnley as a town and what they bring in.

Does that mean they have to smash up bus stops, throw bottles at each other and throw up all over the high Street??

I saw the thread title and it reminded me of “fisticuffs in Frederick street” by the toy dolls
