Christmas parties
« on September 27, 2018, 10:42:14 am by RedJ »
Been tasked with booking the office Christmas party, haven't a f**king clue what am doing as this is the first year it's been my responsibility.

Any recommendations? consensus is sit-down meal over one of them buffet things but somewhere with a dance floor, and reasonably close to town if not in town itself.

Went Castle Park last year and it was a bit naff.

I went to one at the racecourse last year and it was pretty decent. Was a fairground / casino theme and ended up winning about 30 free entry to the races vouchers. Also had a craft beer bar which I didn't find til the end of the night, was cheaper than the main bars for better beer, very annoyed I didn't spot it at the start!

They do nearly every Friday and Saturday in December I think so plenty of dates to choose from.

I'm guessing there'll be the option of a tab? We usually set one up ready for arrival and just get em to send the invoice in afterwards. Good shout though, will look at that.

Thinking about the Keepmoat as well, anyone ever done that?

I've been to the Keepmoat for a couple of Christmas parties. Always been good, I've been to dos in the conference suites upstairs and the BV bar, so don't know if you'll have the option. Although I've never been tasked with booking them so I don't know if they're relatively painless to deal with!

Had a quick look earlier and it said you had a view of the pitch so am guessing it's held in the Premier Lounge or whatever it is these days, good to hear that though. Will no doubt get a bit of stick if I end up booking there, mind.

Our company held ours at the Earl which I was sceptical of reading others experiences of the venue but with a three course sit down meal and the breathtaking room its held in I thought it was well worth what we paid for it. Close enough to town to walk in and the drinks weren't as expensive as I expected either.

Never been there. Is there a bit of a disco or anything like that? been told there's got to be at least some music or I'm never allowed to sort it out again...

In that case I'd make sure there was no music 😀😀
