Pitch
« on October 05, 2018, 11:13:32 pm by Padge_DRFC »
Not due to stop raining until tomorrow afternoon and not just drizzle. Reckon the pitch will be okay and game on?

No worries our pitch does seem to drain very well and it’s not had much play on it, so it will be fine

Postponements can be puzzling at times; for instance the game against  Wimbledon last season was postponed for a seemingly waterlogged pitch, and yet there was nowhere near as much rain that day as when we played Blackburn; the rain before that game was torrential, and the players were running through pools of water all night, and yet the game survived. Strange.

It should not be a consideration but it always is in reality. Ref will be secretly willing to give it a bit longer if folk are travelling relatively short distances but if coming from end of earth they will call it off early to save the criticism - even if by 3pm it ends up playable.

The sprinklers will still be in action pre match and at half time too.

Why do we insist on watering the pitch when it’s been raining all night and most of the day?
Saw several players slip on the pitch today and I think Wright slipped to give the 4th goal away. Surely it didn’t need watering today

Believe me there was no slip for the 4th

No slip for the fourth goal, just a stupid Cryuff turn when there was no need

Golden rule of defending.
Never take a man on if you are the last defender..
