I've heard him tell that tale before. He said Belle Vue was the worst place he'd ever been. Obviously the pie incident mentally scarred him. Ha ha ha.

I remember a cocky little Dingle getting a burger in the face. It was thrown from the pop terrace, it was hilarious.
It kicked off big time afterwards

I'm surprised the soap dodger didn't pick it up from the floor and eat it.

Didn’t Dean Williams get hit by a pasty think at Scarborough or could’ve been Hartlepool?

I heard this on talk sport this morning also. He said he controlled the pie on his chest when it was thrown at him! Must have been a very stale pie.

Tony Cascarino could never control a pie on his chest. Or a ball for that matter !! 😀

One of the greatest, most accurate throws I’ve ever seen was when a Wigan fan threw a pie at Willie Boyd from way up the slope of the Rosso end. It was akin to a quarterback throw in  American Football. Hit him plum in the back too.
