We need others to step and challenge him for his shirt , but it’s hard to see other than Kane having the same style as him.

Best footballer on the pitch and as said we need a few others to raise their game to match him.

Is the irony that you chose an actor whose legs have gone?

We conceded more with him on the pitch
I don’t think there was a link in him coming off and us conceding

I know that Gillingham were utter gash and gave us acres of room in midfield. But Coppinger today. Sweet Jesus, that was as good a performance as I've ever seen from him.

The way he set up that one on one for Marquis in the first half defied belief. One of their players tried clicking the ball past Coppinger at shoulder height. He swung up a foot and dropped the ball straight in front of him, for him to step into and lay a defence splitting ball to Marquis. I couldn't believe I'd seen it till I saw the replay on the big screen. Utterly sublime. He is technically a better player now than he was 3, 5, 10 or 14 years ago.

The way Coppinger brings down a ball and kills it stone dead is absolutely unbelievable and I don't think I've ever witnessed anyone do it better in the flesh than him.

Two weeks in a row he has been brilliant. The main reason we won at Rochdale and again today just sublime in nearly everything he did. I doubt I will ever see a better player for Rovers than him.

He played a ball to Mason (I think it was) with the outside of his foot after it had come to him at a difficult height and at pace.
Most players would have struggled to just bring the ball down.
It is something I have seen him do more frequently as time has gone by.
I agree that he does stuff now that I am sure he didn’t do a few years ago.

Tried to work out yesterday when his 600th Rovers appearance  would be. He won't play at Notts County and obviously depends on FA Cup draw and progress but my guess is it could well be Fleetwood away on Boxing Day. Be nice and appropriate if we could think of something really special to celebrate it. Bit like the 500th at Morecambe.

He’s still our best player. He really is.

Unplayable yesterday. How long will he go on for?

I agree Billy, technically he was head & shoulders above any player out there yesterday. His brain sees things much quicker than others too, as long as that keeps happening along with desire he showed yesterday it doesn't matter how many years are on the clock. I honestly thought the manager had told him to run himself ragged for 60 minutes then sub him, but he was still the best player on the pitch up to him eventually coming off.

Yes, when he was rubbing his hamstring I feared the worst but, he doesn't give up.

On the subject of Copps and a fitting celebration of his achievements and a symbol of what he brings as an ambassador, a role model I would like to see that 'Spirit of Doncaster' statue outside the ground be reworked to represent that pose at Morecambe when the other players lifted him aloft.

Normally statues are for those who may have passed but I think in Copps case, he's a living legend and deserves the honour.

Not sure what you all think and whether it's something we could contribute towards?

I'd love a statue of Copps doing, he certainly doesn't have to be dead for it. Newcastle have an Alan Shearer statue for instance, and didn't Arsenal get one made for Thierry Henry?

If he starts every league game for the rest of the season, he will end this season with exactly 500 league starts for Rovers. A minor record, but one worth having.

Anyone any clue how much a statue would cost. Would it be a realistic amount that the fans could try and raise... he certainly deserves one
