Everybody has their axe to grind BB.

As a dedicated anti-leftist, of course he's going to claim that populism is a reaction against trendy leftism. I'd have a lot more time for him if he gave similar weight to working class dislocation following the crash de-industrialisation of the 1980s, which occurred under right wing governments in most countries.
