Not our best footballing performance of the season, but probably one of the most dominant, we were the best team throughout the contest.
Kane was back to his best, both forwards were dangerous,Whiteman had room to play, and the centre halves were on their game from the start.
After Gillinghams result against Portsmouth I was expecting them to be decent, but from back to front they were poor.
Which brings me to Tom Eaves, who was a substitute and looks like leaving them in January. He is unrecognisable from the big lump who I first saw play for Yeovil at the KM. Thank god he did not start the game, looks fast, strong. skillful, mobile , and a good player. The most improved player I have seen in a long time,I hope he goes on to a good team and does well, wish it was us.

Yes I dreaded hearing the name Eaves and after his sprints across Half Way line at Half time my spirits lowered as he came on ready for Second Half
No doubt he is far too good for them. Someone mentioned Sunderland in connection with him yesterday so is he out of reach for us ? Could he do the Championship ?
I also asked on a different thread if we needed him. Suppose we would if JM left ?

If Copps is fit I would bring him in for May, if Wilks is fit, and we need Mason back ASAP at right back, another day, against a better team Blair's sloppy distribution would have cost us.

Big win yesterday after the Boxing Day game. Important now that we get the 3 points against Rochdale on Tuesday whilst Barnsley and Sunderland have tough away games

I wouldn't say Blackpool away is a tough one for Sunderland. Meanwhile, Portsmouth, Charlton and Peterborough all have relatively easy games?

With 21 league games left let’s not get to wound up about the other teams’ fixtures, and concentrate on our own?
There’s almost half a season to go yet.!

Who's getting wound up?
You're not telling me, you don't even look at League 1 fixtures - and only ever look at who we've got?
If you do, you're missing out on the fun!

Of course I look, but we can’t influence what happens in the other games so concentrate on our own..
If we keep on accumulating points then the table will look after itself. If we win most games by 2 or 3 goals then the goal difference will improve significantly..
That’s what I mean.. the only time I would critically look at the other fixtures is when we are on the final run-in, say 6-8 games left. Things can change big time before then - look at the turn around for Barnsley a couple of years ago, and ours to go from play off contenders to relegation..
Our season destiny is still very much in our own hands..

There are no easy games, Bristol Rovers a couple of weeks ago were poor Oxford form team in the division, it can depend when you play certain teams as those that go down usually have some sort of good run of results in a season, Plymouth started very poorly then picked up and now have slipped back again.
It is how we perform that matters, the last two games were a complete contrast, as Fleetwood's were.

IDM, this may come as a surprise to you, but we can't influence what happens in our games - only the team and management can influence that! So, to me it's part and parcel of being a supporter, you tend to look around and see what is happening elsewhere.
It's all good fun and it definately makes it more interesting when we are one of the clubs at the right end of the league.

Alan, I meant “we” in the bigger sense, ie including the team..
Of course I notice the other games, I watch the goals programme every week, and I see who is where in the table.. but I don’t put too much importance on other teams’ games individually until the closing weeks..
