Bizarre football excuses
« on December 30, 2018, 04:42:16 pm by BillyStubbsTears »
Just heard a cracker from Mauricio Pellegrini after Burnley turned over West Ham.

Quote
We lacked energy to win it. We had a flight at that arrived 2am in the morning after playing Southampton.

They played Southampton on Thursday night. The plane didn't arrive until 2am? In the morning even.  What did they do? Carry it up the M6?

Did they fly straight from Southampton to Manchester , or did the go home to London ?
If they went to London and got home Friday Morning , then had to travel to Manchester Saturday afternoon , then i can understand what he's saying

Why didn’t they get a coach from Southampton to the Burnley area on Thursday at 23:00 they would have got there around 03:30,rested the remainder of Friday, trained on Saturday, played on Sunday.
If they didn’t get the plane until 02:00 on Thursday they would not have got back to their mansions in Essex until gone 04:00.
Perhaps they should contacted Mr Mayfield to sort out arrangements as he’s had a couple of years experience at doing such things

if i was the manager my excuse would be because Burnley were effectively playing in the West Ham strip and their badges were so small (to tell the difference) my players had to think twice not to pass the ball to them this interrupted our momentum

FACT IS we know most footballers have negative IQ'S

far better excuse than Fergie's grey shirts excuse

either way the bubbles burst and WHU got blown away
