Round 5?

We are going to have to beat teams like this if we are going to win it.

Those steps at the front are very similar to those at the Emirates stadium.

Round 5?

It wouldn't be the first time I've been to White Hart Lane to watch Rovers in round 5 of a cup competition, Billy; the only trouble was we got dicked 7-2.

FT today reckons the cost has now reached £1billion and rising, due to the delay.

Previous cost was at £850 million. Looking a very expensive project at the moment.

Wonder whether Levy is thinking of paying back the big bonus he paid himself for steering the project to delivery?

Still laugh at the bloke on our Coach at the Emirates who shouted  " ******g hell theyve got more steps going up to their Ground than weve got in our Ground"

It looks a fine stadium. The company I work for supplied the cranes for the project. The last one only came down last week!!! The over run on the job has been a farce. Spurs selecting a principal contractor that has never carried out a stadium project before was the sole reason for this.

I work in the electrical industry and one of my customers said the same. They also said instead of going down traditional procurement routes, Spurs decided to purchase a lot of products themselves and free issue them to the contractors. It’s quite simply too big to be doing that.

That’s true. Even the deal they did with the cranes was an unconventional one. It wasn’t just a conventional hire, it was a purchase and buy back through a seporate company owned by Spurs.

They should have taken note of what happened down the road at Arsenal. That was one of the finest examples of executing a stadium build you will ever see.

The interesting thing, from my point of view, is that they decided on installing rail seating, with a lot of help from my friend Jon Darch right from the get go. As it happens the updated Green Guide now allows rail seating to be installed, but the updated version only came out last November. Myself and Amanda from the FSF met with their officials about 5 years ago and planted the seed so to speak.

The seats won't be rail seating as we have seen at other grounds, i.e. Celtic or Shrewsbury for example, but nevertheless they will make standing in amongst the seats so much safer.

I was involved in Emirates with the company I worked for - we supplied and erected all of the steelwork, they are doing same again but through a different pc. Interesting the guy who owned the company at the time had the contract for Wembley and said it didn’t feel right so never signed it.
Levy will have this all tied up with penalty clauses
