Brexit ain't going to fix this any time soon.

''Austerity cuts have fallen hardest on deprived communities in the north of England, which are enduring the highest poverty rates and weakest economies, according to a study.

The Centre for Cities thinktank study shows that the poorest areas have borne the brunt of council spending cuts. Local authority spending has fallen nationally by half since 2010, with areas such as Liverpool, Blackburn and Barnsley facing average cuts twice that of their counterparts in the more affluent south, according to the thinktank''.

And here's a key quote for us plebs on here:

"The five cities and towns that have suffered the biggest falls in spending over the past eight years are from the north of England: Barnsley (-40%), Liverpool (-32%), Doncaster (-31%), Wakefield (-30%) and Blackburn (-27%). The British average is -14.3%."

Over twice the national average cut back for TLO Doncaster.

But...but... £350m/week! We'll cover all these cut-backs with that!

Clever strategy by the Tories.

Austerity has been implemented more through cuts to local authority budgets than to central govt budgets. So the councils bear the brunt of resentment. We knew that much already. What I for one didn't know was that the cuts had been so skewed to traditionally Labour council areas.

So it's not only councils taking the blame. It's councils in areas that the Tories have little hope of winning Westminster seats taking the blame.

The bunch of amoral bas**rds. This is what class warfare looks like.

Selby etc. Do you STILL think Donny would come out well overall when we leave the EU and take back control?

It's not a new Tory trick either. Remember rate-capping?

Good job we are all in it together isn't it or people would have a right to feel aggrieved. So here's that article about how Britian's richest families have seen their incomes double during austerity again.

I'm so glad my salary has not gone up in real terms for four years because we enjoy such a sense of community in this country.
