Looking back to the last time he was here did not work v Peterborough as the Ref went from 28 x Nil to 2.66

See if this bloke can beat .266.

I thought he did ok. He always tried to play advantage and if it didn't work out he was prepared to go back for the free kick. He was a little lenient on persistent infringement, Southend's No. 8 being the main beneficiary. Although it was a case of two teams who wanted to play football.

The West Stand lino was dreadful. He couldn't keep up with play which resulted in him missing several offsides and he managed to give a goal kick when a Southend defender clearly knocked the ball out right in front of him. Where do they find them?

Yeah, Backhouse did well last night.
However, why didn’t he book the Southend player (number ten?) after he tried to punch that early cross into the goal.
