2 more wins...?
« on April 06, 2019, 05:08:08 pm by adamtherover »
Before today there was speculation about what we need to do to get into the top 6, 2 more wins was an option, I think posh winning has blown that theory.  I still think 2 more after today should be enough from the remaining 5 games.  Blackpool are now adrift, so it's just us versus fergie.. oh the irony..    how sweet it will be.  The last game v cov is gonna be something special if we need the win.  I can quite easily see next week v Plymouth as the first of our two wins needed..   rtid

Bank on it going to the last day. Anything else is a bonus. Do not count any chickens people.

Dingles coming back into the play off positions soon too.
I wouldn't guarantee them third place either.

I thought (and posted) a few weeks ago that I thought we would play them at Wembley.

Next weekends fixtures.....

DRFC v Plymouth
Blackpool v Peterborough
Sunderland v Coventry

Massive 3 games. The aim must be to be in a position to go to Sunderland on Good Friday and play with a bit of freedom.

We have got to be looking for wins in next two home games and then have that Coventry last game in reserve. Draw against Oxford could be ok as could defeat at Sunderland.

If we go in to Coventry with 7 more points than today I think we should be fine.

oxford winning today makes the match against them much easier (on paper)
same with Accrington getting a point today for when we play them

Coventry is a good banker to have as their season will be long over by then.

Just take one game at a time..

Any of the teams below us have to pick up more points than we do.. our position could be stronger this time next weekend..

Peterborough have got some tough games left, can't see them overtaking us

How refreshing (along with most things GM has done this season) that we are being treated to an end of season that isnt heaped in tragedy..   if fergie does his usual business with posh, 6th is looking good..

70 points will do it comfortably.

Peterborough seem to match us each week. When we were struggling to find a win so were they, and now we’ve found some form so have they.
Think we will just sneak it but it’s going to be tight, the goal today was massive

Agree it was a massive win today, but I’d rather have our points in the bag than their game in hand, plus our goal difference is much better.

Their game in hand is Portsmouth away they’ll do well to get anything there.
If we slip up though when they win it’s down to two points, Saturday is a big game, it’s gonna be tough for posh to get three points so we need to take advantage
