Play off semi final dates
« on April 11, 2019, 08:59:17 am by Campsall rover »
Dont want to get ahead of myself but does any one know when the League 1 semi’s are? Can’t find any info at all. Surely the dates have been sorted?

I wonder if this may depend on who is playing and if there are any location clashes with other division play offs?  Would Barnsley and Sheff Utd be allowed to play at home same night.?

Or is it all about TV schedules and who draws the biggest viewers prime time.?

I dont think anyone can realistically make any plans yet though can they ?

Even if the dates are announced today or tomorrow I think only Luton in the top 7 are "safe" and the other 6 can be permed in lots of ways

Would be good to know, we are in the rare position of pretty much knowing for sure that, if we make the Play Offs, we will finish 6th therefore be at home for Leg 1 and away for Leg 2. Gives us a good idea of which dates will apply to us should they release them soon.

Yes the dates will help for those wanting days off for instance , and we will be at home on the Thursday night after the CCFC game probably but for the away Leg ....

.... where are we going to book Hotels and / or Train Tickets to and from

Waiting game till last kick of Season I reckon for all the Teams in the mix

I saw somewhere that the EFL hope to release the dates by the end of this week.

I was always under the impression that they are announced straight after the final game. I didn't realise they announced for example

6th place will play 3rd place on said date.
etc

So will it be confirmed before the season finishes?

It's likely to be:

6th v 3rd
Thu 09 May 19:45

3rd v 6th
Sun 12 May 17:15 / 18:30

Here's the dates from the last 2 seasons:

2017/18:

6th v 3rd
Thu 10 May 19:45

3rd v 6th
Sun 13 May 17:15

2016/17:

6th v 3rd
Thu 04 May 19:45

3rd v 6th
Sun 07 May 18:30

Would definitely be happy with that.
I did see a picture of dates from league two on twitter though which insinuated that the first league two game is on the Thursday however? Not sure if it was a made up photo but looked quite official.

Would be magic if it was the Sunday, no time off work necessary.

I'm hoping it'll be tomorrow.
The season isn't over yet Rigo. :coat:

All i am bothered about is the semi final dates don’t clash with any Yorks CCC fixtures. I think it is unlikely though.
If Yorks get to the 50 over Cup Final and Rovers the play off final then that would make for a fantastic weekend Sat 25th May at Lords and Sun 26th May at Wembley.
( as long as both win of course )
Can but hope.

Not bothered about Rovers alone, I'll be going to some play-off games, regardless.

I've got Barnsley's promotion hopes to f*ck up and I also fancy a trip up to Carlisle - always a great place at this time of year!

Bit of a whooooosh moment. Neh mind.

Still no sign, looking at it I have just seen that last season the dates were released on the 13/03/2019 which was a Friday afternoon so here's hoping.  :bscarf:

Don’t think it was 13/03/2019 for last season mate! 😝

Quite right, it’s been a long week. :silly:

Your right. Which is strange because I may be wrong but I don’t believe that really happens now where you get a weeks rest between the first and second leg does it?
I always seem to think of it as like 3/4 days gap in each division.

I don't know why they haven't confirmed them yet. It's ridiculous but then again I wouldn't expect anything else from the Football League.

Villa vs West Brom would be another bloody good play-off game, which looks likely at this moment in time.

No consideration for the fans that's why.
It'll have to be announced by the end of next week at latest surely.
