Not doubting copps ability but how many teams in the country rely on a player his age ??

What's his age got to do with it? Does it matter when he's as good as he is?

He is irreplaceable we all know that, but for me the time has come that he is in some fashion..He plays for 70 mins and has to miss games..That causes disruption when we have to keep using a sub to do it..GM obviously doesn't think he can last a game...Also against the better teams he (like a lot of our players) has gone missing or ineffective..Sunderland on Friday classic case.If Alfie May would have turned in a first half performance like Copps did he would be slaughtered...

Reality is we have to move forward and if Copps does get a new deal next year,it needs to be from the bench for cameo's in the last twenty..An absolute legend and hero but I'm afraid his time has come...

Trouble is, until you can find a player to do what he does you can't replace him (although of course you could change the style of play. A team like Lincoln City, who are very direct, wouldn't need a Coppinger-type player.)

I do think he will need to be phased out over the next season (or two) but it's vital that we identity someone who can play that role. Last season I thought Mandeville or Beestin could do it. Obviously Mandeville is not coming back, but it might be worth giving Beestin another deal to see if he can step up to the plate.

Because if they are then there are only eight there that would make the first team.

Probs plus Copps, 1 or two high class transfers, a couple of class loans - we're almost ready to go ;)

We haven't signed Theresa May as well as Alfie, have we?

I would challenge, that if those are the players we have, then at least eleven would make the first team....
