With 4 ex-Rovers as well Baz, all of whom have played tonight.

Barnie will be over the moon even if it means no chance of playing us next season.🙂

I don't think so BB; I think it was Hogan and O' Connell who scored.

Correct, SS, I thought I'd heard Sharp had scored.

Or embarrassed after he recommended they get rid of Wilder!

Really pleased for the Blades. Always had a soft spot for them......helped by my intense dislike of their neighbours across as the City.

I wonder how many times those 4 ex-rovers have been labelled 'not good enough' on this forum when they played for us...

Really? Sharp was never 'passed it' in his third stint here? Duffy was never 'lazy'? Lundstram was never just a 'lower league average player'? I'd go back and have a check..

Yes, well done Blades. I have always felt that Donny have had a decent relationship with the Blunts (sharp etc). I much rather see them in the premier than scum. Playoffs here we come with a 100% record in playoffs.

Stevens got a fair amount of stick as well.

Lundstram got some right stick on here, one of the most technically gifted midfielders I've seen in a Rovers Shirt. That bit of skill on the halfway line at Brentford was unbelievable, I was rather drunk at the time but I'm sure it was some kind of drag back mixed in with a Cruyff turn or have I dreamt it?!

Duffy was slated for being lazy and a fancy Dan type of player.

Duffy never looked like he had 90 mind in him here. Lundstram would be a shrewd loan signing for us next season .

I'm made up for Billy. Hope he gets a proper crack at it next year. If Glenn Murray can, no reason he can't.

Think Duffy got stick because Dickov was clueless as how to utilise a very talented footballer

It was plain to see the quality of those four players back then by those of us who know what we're talking about.

The problem is, those that just think they know what they're talking about should leave it to those of us that actually do!

I think Billy will surprise a few next season. Players like Lambert and Murray have shown you don’t have to have pace or trickery to succeed in the Premier League. Go on lad!

All 4 of those players have progressed since playing for us. Duffy moved on a couple of times and learned along the way, similar with Lundstram who took a step back before going forward however they are all much stronger physically now than back then.

Any player who wants to make the grade has to work hard in the gym, on diet and conditioning. Fair play to all four of them for working hard and taking their chance.

Duffy played for Scunthorpe against us and ran the show, prior to us signing him. The quality was there then for all to see. The reason why he wasn't selected for Rovers frequently was obviously something other than his football talent. He was clearly good enough.

Sharp was written off as past it on his return to us when the real reason for his seemingly lacklustre performances was the way the team was set up. Mesi would have struggled to score in that team.

Messi can only play in one team as his record for Argentina shows - It suddenly dawned on me last night Chris Wilder might consider signing a certain player who will remain nameless - stranger things have happened

Well, well,  well ....
Looks like we're just about there. It's been said above, the Wigan game in 2007 was dreadful, but just papered over the cracks that were some dreadful displays particularly away from home. Yesterday was just brilliant. I'm a cynical old sod but the last few games it became clear that it could very well happen.
Mr Wilder is a football genius at this level - the rise from the Adkins 'era's is ridiculous.
Thanks for all the comments folks.
I'll be over for the play off semi (if I can get a ticket)
Good luck!!
