Disgusting. Add the defender Jansson trying to stop the goal, and the getting the Villa payer sent off.

Yet again it shows why this farce of kicking the ball out of play should be knocked on the head

I couldn't agree more. Leave it to the referee.

Though the earlier case when Villa kicked the ball out when the Leeds player was in trouble was the correct thing to do. However, that should be something the ref can act on, not just in head injury situations - rule changes needed.

Isn’t it up to the ref to stop play? Not the villa players

Sorry you are taught to play to the whistle  , sick of teams thinking it should be a given that the ball gets kicked out if a player is injured , it's the refs job to stop play not the players

Think the issue more here was that the Leeds player seemed to motion as if he was going to do that before passing the ball to the winger (who may have been offside) and that Villa had put the ball out earlier when in a much better position.

The problem that no one seems to address is player's diving all over the park to gain an advantage including our lads. How are refs supposed to officiate.

Even the refs are not medically qualified to judge how serious an injury is. If a player is down , just allow the physio to come on and treat them. How long would you imaging a player would lay on the floor pretending to be injured if they knew the game wasn't going to be stopped.
As has been stated before on here, what started as a sporting gesture has turned into cheats charter

The red card is a disgrace, the player taking kicking the ball out is extremely underhanded and beyond the point about whether the ball should be put out or not. It's just scummy. And Klich was offside too.

Sincerely hope Villa beat them in the Play Off final.

He elbowed him in the face, regardless of the circumstances a red card all day long. The linesman saw it, and told the ref.

Regardless of what  happened before he deserved the red.

He caught Bamford with his elbow but it was nowhere near Bamford's face. However he went down holding his face. He's conned the officials.

The red will be rescinded on appeal.

Bamford should receive a 3 match ban for that.

Totally unnacceptable

Nearly as bad as the Wimbledon keeper on Marquis...... only he didn't do it on a large enough stage.  :(

And that was a second yellow so no appeal or investigation as far as I know.

His elbow is nowhere near his face! Worse than the infamous Rivaldo dive in my book. But no wonder it happens all the time when no effort is made to stamp it out.

The one where the linesman said to the referee he swung his elbow at his face and the referee gave him a straight red.

As i said the linesman gave it. He didn't ha e the benefit of watching it from a multitude of angles at slow motion like we did. He had one at full speed.

If the villa player wasn't running round acting like a petulant child he wouldn't have got himself into that situation and wouldn't have been sent off. Would he?

Changed your argument there then, haven't you?

It wasn't remotely a red card. It was a complete con by Bamford, end of story. Ridiculous and will be overturned if there is any sense.

Looking at that twitter video, the Villa player barely touched Bamford, never an elbow to the face and certainly not a red or even a yellow card offence.
Bare faced cheating by Bamford and he should be banned for simulation.

I’m so chuffed Leeds have blown automatic promotion.

Just need them to lose in the play-offs now.

Bizarrely my respect for the manager has gone up
Yes you should play to the whistle, however the Leeds player did look as though he was kicking the ball out. Bamfords reaction was disgusting

We do not vilify blatant cheating through simulation nearly enough. Every player who does something as egregious as Bamford should be asked about it in every interview until he admits and apologises - months, years, however long it takes.

How can DRFC fans take the moral high ground on this issue when Harry Forrester did exactly the same few years ago

Because most of us didn't like that either?  The majority of Leeds fans seem to thing that was fair yesterday....
