In all my 62 years, as far as i know, the answer has been the same. " who are the oldest football club in the league  ---   notts county"
But who is it now?

Ah yes Stoke City BUT I was reading somewhere very recently that Stoke and their 1863 were under review as apparantly it is unsubstantiated

Only read it a week ago so I will try and find it again

Surprising that we with 1879 are quite a bit older than a lot of Teams like Man City Spurs and Liverpool (I seem to recall)

Disputed whether it's Stoke or Forest.

Stoke
Disputed whether it's Stoke or Forest.

Stoke City claim they were founded in 1863 and celebrated their centenary in 1963. However there is no evidence that they were formed before 1868. I'd go with Forest.
