I don’t think taking a swipe at Jordon is justified. He gave his all for us.
Probably wanted to stay in the South. Don’t forget Ben Whiteman was not a holding midfielder last season except on the odd occasion. It’s GM that has turned him into one.

Yes I voted for Ben as player of year, so a very well done to him.
He has had a fantastic season and i voted for him for his consistency this season.
Probably only had 3/4 below par performances all season and 2 of them imo have been in recent games after his return from injury.

All I was saying regarding Houghton there was a contract on the table awaiting his signature & chose to look elsewhere my point was had we signed Jordan no way would we have signed Ben Whiteman who is a far superior player in my book - if some on here think I was ever having a go at Jordan you’re wrong - had we signed Houghton however there’s no way we’d be where we are now as he wasn’t mobile enough to play in a McCann midfield 3 whereas Ben has thrived

No need at all for any malice towards Houghton. He gave his all and did well in two years here. Clearly staying in the south was a factor in his future.

We should all be celebrating really. Houghton has had (from what I understand) an injury free season and now has another promotion on his record. Ben Whiteman has flourished here and deserves the player of the year award. And now we go into the play offs which already exceeds almost all expectations.
