Shown up last night.

Maybe people will realise he isn't as good as people think.

I think he showed against Klitschko how good he is, but from what I've seen of last night, he didn't look like he'd taken Ruiz seriously or put the work in.

It happens. Look at Tyson and Buster Douglas.

Klitschko at the end of his career. Joshua is bang average at best.

Had to laugh at the live feed to news conference on sky sports and the apologies that followed for AJ’s language
Tyson Fury must be rubbing his hands together

Very gracious in defeat to be fair.
Hes better than that, he seemed to approach the fight like it was a formality.

He just got beaten by a more skilled boxer. Saying he underestimated Ruiz is nonsense.

Are you being serious? Fair play to Ruiz, i love to see underdogs win, but i’d say he was the hungrier fighter not the better boxer.
I’d confidently have a bet on a different outcome in a rematch.

I'll take that bet.

Seriously, AJ is terrible boxer, he doesn't even have a jab ffs. He's a warrior who wins fights on pure brute force and devasting hits, not on his technical ability. Maccracken is making him box and move which is not his game.

Something wasn't quite right last night though. In the ring walk he looked static not moving, the neck massages and weird comments in the corner during the rounds. He's spoken about getting nervous before fights before, i think the occasion of making an american debut at MSG may have got to him.

Hearn and Joshua are in a tricky spot now. They would obviously want the rematch to regain the belts but if he were to lose again, he is finished. It'll be interesting to see what happens because i think the rematch would be another hard night for Joshua.

The rematch will be in uk so none of the overhyped american bullshit. There will be a totally different outcome, but you are right something about  last night wasnt right.

His face was marked up on the pre-fight press conference which I think was the sign of a bad camp. Dave Allen believes he fought like someone that had been beaten up in sparring. I suspect that could be true.

It wasn’t as big a shock as people say. Look at the records side by side and they’re not that different. Ruiz was on the end of an iffy decision against Parker. Joshua has plotted a very opportune route to picking up the belts.

One defeat is far from career ending, but his next move will be very interesting. He’s no longer the a-side for Wilder or Fury, and if he rematches Ruiz and that happens again then it’s hard to see where he goes from there. Thing is it wasn’t just a lucky punch, it was a sustained beating. He looked totally gassed. Either something really was up, or it’s really poor conditioning despite the chiselled frame.

Ruiz is one of those fighters that looks unfit and out of shape but he's a lot quicker than people think..That said I think people are being unfair on Joshua. It's heavyweight boxing, everybody has a punches chance and he took one that he didn't recover from..

I think he needs a change in trainer myself,it's not about constant weights and the perfect body..He needs to get some stamina in those legs and be that bit technically sharper...That said I too think he knocks Ruiz out in the rematch...

It's the best thing that could have happened in the boxing world, maybe now Wilder and Fury might not be so reluctant to take him on..
