Most of us have no idea. No idea. The experiences they went through for our futures....

Very moving, certainly puts my day to day challenges into perspective.

That's precisely what I was thinking. Had a shite day yesterday with a dozen mini-crises blowing up at work.

And so what. After stopping for a moment to think what those young lads were going through at this very moment 75 years ago, none of my trivial problems are of any importance.

Heartfelt thanks to that generation who showed the best of what we are when the stakes were the highest imaginable.

Aye. Can't imagine what must've been going through the mind of those first lads off the boats, but they still did it anyway. Superhuman.

      Many moons ago I was in the first gulf war on a minehunter/sweeper..We were directed to a area that was needed to be used for supply shipping.All the intelligence pointed to the fact it had been heavily mined..We also knew that the life expentancy of sweepers in a minefield wasn't that long...

      I can still remember the Captain coming on the intercom confirming that we were just about to start our first run and sweep and how we felt at the time and it wasn't great..And that isn't even a small percentage to how those heroes must have felt...I have nothing but admiration for them all..

     As it happens the intel was wrong and there wasn't any mines there thankfully..
