Should the worse happen should we try & appoint Michael Appleton who was in the final 2 when Dickov was appointed - good coach but a bit nomadic in his management career

Appleton did well at Oxford and also did a good job as Leicester caretaker. Could do worse.

Darren Moore?

This. Did a brilliant job at WBA and not afraid to give the youth a go. Probably got some decent contacts too

That’s what I thought there’s a lot more nightmarish potential candidates out there thinking about best of a bad bunch - please not McCall

I would be happy with Moore but the rest mentioned don't fill me with glee..

The worry for me is we would have to get rushed into a appointment due to pre-season,La Manga next week etc etc .Rovers are normally diligent in recruitment,i know that takes time and can be frustrating but on the whole it works..If the need requires us to search again then I don't think they have that luxury and the danger of that is theres more chance of getting the wrong man..

Gary rowett or Nigel Pearson maybe?
Both out of the managerial roundabout for a short while.

Think Moore would be decent but not sure how good a coach he is. Rowett wouldn't come surely.

The Cowley brothers would be good but they're probably Championship bound at some stage.

I'd be happy with Darren Moore, depending on who his assistant would be. We need to establish a Rovers Identity again and Moore would be one of the best available candidates with the mind to do that, I feel.

Lots of Derby fans said Rowett played dreadful football. The worst.

If you’ve enjoyed McCann’s style of football then you won’t want the Cowley brothers.

Darren Moore would be a terrible appointment. Lump football, doesn’t fit out style of play.

Rowett and Moore both have a style of play which none of us would enjoy watching

I think the wishes for Moore are driven more by sentimentality than football reasons. For the record for those who think he "did a brilliant job at WBA", I suggest a chat with a number of WBA fans and you may find a good number contradict this viewpoint, especially from the standpoint of enjoyable football.

The good thing about the board is they do know what identity of football style they want the club to have, hence why they waited to interview Mccann.

Who is there out there (forget big names for the sake of a big name) who will have us playing fast attacking football and want to see the youth progress into the squad

I am not pushing SOD but strange he is never spoken about for jobs at this level. Objectively, he has a good record with modest clubs like us and Bournemouth, getting promoted and playing superb football. Plus also experience at higher and international level. Guess folks don’t want to buy into the whole philosophy schtick that comes with him. Quite an investment.
