Positive Spin

We can assume the snake will come in for Marquis and Whiteman to leave us with an even barer squad still....that said it's not yet pre season and the new manager will be able to come in immediately with money to spend and be able to chose a squad in their style.

Someone like Adkins may actually fancy a club like ours where although the board don't spend crazily they are sensible and do back the manager and are even patient too. As in the main (social media aside) our fans are also.

Saunders built a promotion winning squad very quickly. The next manager can do the same this time with a bigger budget I'd assume.

We know Marquis wants to play in the championship so I expect he may go.

Whiteman will undoubtedly want to play at a higher level too, but has he shown any signs of wanting away.?

I suspect someone like Adkins is no longer hungry enough to work within a relatively smaller budget. He probably thinks his stature as a manager is above our level now.

Adkins would be perfect for us, long shot yes, but if I was in his shoes with a few quid in the bank & living locally? I would think yes I wouldn't mind that gig, no pressure job with a good board & time to build a decent side, & a steady income, assuming he still has the appetite for it. If I was in the boards shoes however, I would approach him not wait for him to approach us, he can only say no.

It wouldn't surprise me if McCann was in his ear already though (Whiteman).
