Standard of football has been generally high. Although some of the goalkeeping has been poor. The Argentine keeper excepted.
I was going to watch a game but I heard a group of twelve year olds were putting down their jumpers for goal posts on Westwoodside playing fields, so I had a walk down to watch a higher quality game.
If opening doors for women is your badge you are indeed far far behind in the societal evolution .
I stand by my comment that someone jumped on in the other thread and I never replied to. The women's game is entertaining but the standard (particularly of passing), is very poor. In 2016 the Australian women's team were beaten 7-0 by an under 15 boys side. The women were ranked number 5 in the world. As much as people might say don't compare them to the men's side... I think in fighting for equal exposure and pay, it must be taken into account. Good luck to them and I hope they go all the way. But... Still in my opinion would be beaten by a decent pub team and absolutely thrashed by any semi pro non league side.
That’s because they’re playing against other women though. The average non league footballer even at north east counties level is a very good footballer. A side like armthorpe or rossington would give the England national side a trouncing
