I hope we can get him fit enough to play for us.
He would be a great addition.

Am I missing something here? A striker with a terrible strike rate ( 1 in 6/7) doesn't sound that appealing to me.

A player with his quality would score at a better rate than that in L1.

All we can do is see what happens, if we wanted to sign him I would think they would do it before the Lincoln game so he could get some game time.

If we're signing him, all well and good; if not, it's a non-story.

If he's looking for a way back into football, he likes it here and, given his circumstances wouldn't be demanding on the budget, why not... To supplement the first choice no 9!!

He was always a strapping unit and probably more so now!

“He’s been overseas and he's just come back. We’ve both agreed for him to come back and it's not something we've spoken about at any length".

Not normally a cynic, but I can't believe that they haven't spoken about anything.............. at all...

He has an appalling scoring record but to be fair to him, pretty much all his goals have come in the EPL, which you have to credit.

Maybe he would score at will in this very attacking team we have ? 😀

I can't see many teams higher up taking a chance on him aged 31 and no games for 2 years.

He's ours if we want him ,IMO.  :scarf:

Looking at the players we have maybe a striker who holds up the ball and gets the best out of the attacking players around him would be better than an out and out poacher who offers little outside the penalty box. In that sense he'd be a good signing. But I'd still rather we signed players who are on their way up rather than down, if it gets us where we need to be though it'd be a great move

VA could be a variable to what we currently have and sometimes that could get us a valuable point or three if the pacy young lads aren’t doing the business.

Warboys?
Moss?
Barnes?
Fortune-West?
Butler?
Sullivan?

Our last 6 promotion sides had a key player who was a grizzled old mester, on the way down rather than up.

He is a big bruiser of a centre forward, if he never scored for us but scared the pants off defences in this league I am sure the youngsters would score for fun off him. A signing like him would be fantastic.

If this is all we can have fair enough , but is  he is still  a Striker to admire and fear and is he fit and mentally up for doing for us the job we need , so if there’s any doubt  I’d say keep looking . Then there the cost , players value their services based on past achievements and it would be throwing money at a player who was but isn’t a viable option . I’m sure DM isn’t looking at him unless he can satisfy himself  that it’s a sound move.

A Chris Brown would be fantastic, A Baptiste type would be another disaster, careful Darren. Hope it's not rates mates.

Rob Jones too.

Quite right Hound.

Last 7 promotion winning sides. (counts on fingers, 82, 84, 03, 04, 08, 14, 17).

Yes! Like I said...last 7.

If it's going to cost us a lot in wages then I'd rather we leave him. If he we can get him and another younger, fitter striker then I'd take the gamble on him. I know all transfers are a gamble some are just to big of a risk.

If he is willing to be fully committed then I think he would be a good signing. Played against the very best in the EPL only a few years ago. Lots to offer at 31 still.
