Rail travel help
« on September 14, 2019, 06:18:18 pm by roversdude »
Hi guys hoping someone can help with rail travel
I’m starting a new job in Leeds centre and it looks like train will be the best way to get there taking into consideration parking, fuel and traffic.
A few questions
Is there a rail card available for 50 + year old
Are there season tickets available
If so can dna cars be used to purchase season ticket
Any help gratefully received
Thanks

LNER operate the Kings Cross service to Leeds don't they? should imagine in that case you'll be able to use your DNA card.

I dont think you can use DNA card for season tickets. OAP railcard is for over 60s and not usually valid on peak services anyway so no use for commuters.

My cousin has a Doncaster to Leeds season ticket. It costs her around £2000 a year.

It's also worth checking if your employer does interest free season ticket loans - they will pay for the year and then you usually pay back in equal installments over the 12 months... a 12 month ST always works out cheaper than weekly/monthly so it saves you stumping the cash up upfront.

So expensive train fares.
