spot on, it's a long time since I've seen anyone in the football world come across with the air of integrity and dignity that DM gives out.  He couldnt be more far removed from the snake if he tried.

I sure hope we'll be able to say that the first time a 'bigger' club comes knocking Adam - tho I think, like anyone else, that if an opportunity came elsewhere for bigger money he'd move on.

Not 100% sure that would be true in DM’s case. He is made of different stuff compared to 99% of the other managers. I don’t see money being DM’s main motivating factor. Far from it in fact.
If it was he would probably have waited for a bigger club than DRFC are, to make him a management offer.
He wouldn’t have had long to wait imo. But it did amaze me no one came in for him before our vacancy arose.

Not doubting he's made of different stuff Adam, not doubting if he'd waited a while he probably could've got a job at a bigger club than drfc - but he was a colossus of a defender for us who moved on for a bigger club and better money - Bradford - at the time when he left - albeit for a decent fee.

I hope he'll be around as manager at DRFC for yonks - but am sure inevitably better offers and career forward steps will come around - especially if he does well.

Would you have hung round at Rovers in 1996/1997  We were a basket case of a club at that time with a
Meglomaniac (amongst other traits he had) as our owner.
Anyone who was offered £1 a week more money elsewhere would have scarpered.

DM could well be a fan of the club too - which may have been one of the pulls it took to get him here - doesn't mean he'll hang around as manager if and when bigger fish come along.
