1) Anderson an absolute rock and hardly gave Wyke a sniff.

2) Deing outstanding handling. So assured.

3 Coppinger almost all our creativity came from him.

4) Taylor his pace caused problems and work rate outstanding.

If only Taylor’s excellent run into their box had resulted in a goal then he would have had my vote..

This thread is not the right place for that kind of comment, and even so, he didn’t have that bad a game..

I bow to your superior knowledge but there's probably about 8000 Rovers fans who'd disagree.

Mine as well I am afraid, Coppinger not at the races today, a long way off the pace.

If ND, and I, agree on something it must be true. 😂

Mine too
Copps touches all seemed to lack enough weight and invariably went to a Sunderland player instead of our intended recipient. He seemed a bit off the pace today all over the pitch.

Copps was nowhere near his usual levels, I agree, but his pass helped create the first goal and he put a great ball across goal that Sads just failed to poke home.
He always produces something even when not at his best.

No Copps was far from his best agree but nearly all our positive creativity came through him.

I'm not getting at the lad but this simply isn't true, Gomes was the worst of a bad bunch in the Rovers team yesterday. Lightweight, slow, out of position often and generally just not contributing at all. Sheaf should have replaced him.

I agree we could have brought sheaf on, but Gomes was trying..

I just don’t like someone saying that he was the other team’s best player on our own MOTM thread..  there are plenty other threads to be critical on.

That's fair IDM and I agree with that sentiment.

I thought he was our worst player yesterday but only Dieng and Taylor impressed me. For what it's worth, the usually formidable Whiteman was also well below his best and our midfield on the whole struggled massively.

No player can be outstanding every game and it could be that he was marked out of the game, but Whiteman is meant to be our talisman and was frankly invisible yesterday. He is a talented guy but for the big bucks you have to be imposing yourself more on the better teams. No good just being flat track bully against the weaker sides.

Whiteman clearly took a knock and was struggling. I hope he is available for Wednesday. Whilst he wasn’t at his best yesterday, we are painfully short of alternatives in that position.

I think Gomes has some potential but he isn’t yet ready for the demands of regular football at this level. That was very evident yesterday. I’d prefer if we brought him along slowly and carefully. Too many afternoons like that could wreck his confidence.
