Unfortunately the defensive midfield part went missing today in the 2 Bens

Defence was good, midfield, (today), was mediocre, up front was missing feed from midfield; and simple doesn't have an 's' on the end.

Agree with all of this except that “simples” is actually a word.

The centre 2 in midfield today were well below what they are capable. 4 of the next 5 games they should absolutely boss though. Fingers crossed.

I feel that we could do with a holding midfielder. Someone to sit in front of the back four. Whiteman is too deep and should not be playing this role. It would free up Copps and the Bens to pushed forward a bit.

But still 5th top goal scored in the league, could be higher with those 2 games in hand, strange that.

A league 1 version of Kante would be perfect in our set up.

The defensive midfielder needs to play with Whiteman and Sheaf though as a 3, in place of one of the more attacking midfielders.

Ennis has been superb for the past month. He had an off day today but there've not been many from him this season.

Ennis has done a superb job for us under the situation but he is not a striker, your main striker can not be at 2 goals half way through season if you want to achieve anything. No fault of his he is doing a job for the team just think him working with a proper number 9 will see him bring more to the team.

Bring back Simon Gillet.

I agree, he has been excellent, we are a better team with him in the side, today not at his best, but then again who was quite frankly?

The defence is good enough and on a whole the midfield is good but at home I think we need sum more creativity in the side for teams that sit back like at times cov did, that is for me where our biggest problem is.Their front guys all had good movement and ours were just running in straight lines and when Ennis is isolated it’s hard for him

We struggle when teams sit back but it’s the rigid formation teams we seem to have the most issues with. Our play suits the open, scrappy matches so much more than the rigid formations.

Fleetwood and Rotherham was who could score the most and suited us well.

Blackpool and Portsmouth who sat in formation for 90 minutes really didn’t suit us and we struggled to break them down.

To be fair Billy, I thought it was a combination of reasons with Ennis yesterday, he had an off day, he was marked really well by their centre half who was touch tight all game, & the odd occasion he did break free & make a run into space with his hand up the ball wasn't played to him, we opted to play it sideways or back.

Can some one give those two Coventry centre backs some credit.
They were superb. The best pairing i have seen this season. Never gave Ennis a sniff.
There are two teams playing as i keep saying. Give the other one some credit.
No one it seems wants to do that. Just keep saying we were rubbish. We were not, we were only allowed to play as we did because Coventry were defensively very very good.

Any striker would’ve struggled playing for us yesterday. We played so ridiculously slow that by the time we got near their box they had at least 8 men behind the ball.
If you noticed they actually let us have the ball because firstly it was so slow that they could easily organise themselves and find it easy to defend and secondly our passing was so abject they knew they would get it back. They’d then hit us with fast crisp passing forward more often than not straight down the gaping hole down the middle of the pitch.

Yes we were painfully slow & indecisive with our passing & approach play, first half especially, hence the reason why we couldn't muster a single shot on target during that time. Rubbish first half.

I’ve got to agree our passing is ridiculously slow and predictable. This gives teams time to organise and to know what our next pass is going to be.
I don’t understand playing high balls to Ennis as he never wins a heading duel with a centre half as that not his game, he needs to come a little deeper to collect the ball to his feet then we will see a much better player as with his pace he’ll scare defences into making mistakes.

My thought was they played a back 3  and all of them did a good job. The left sided one had pace which snuffed out Taylor but all 3 handled Ennis well. Today showed , to me that is, that for all his hard work Ennis is not a lone striker
