At what point...

...do we start talking of Tom Anderson in "Rob Jones" terms?

I'll be honest. When we signed him 2 years ago, I thought he was a poor player who would have to do while we had injuries. He's turned into an all-time great contender.

That block on the 6 yard line tonight. It was a "You're not f**king getting past and I'll risk my lower bas**rd limbs to stop you" challenge.

Proper mesters stuff.

What a player this bloke is. Wasn’t sure on him when he first signed but he just seems to get better with every week that passes.

He’s got a bit of Rob Jones about him but he can step out and play a bit as well. That’ll serve him well when he plays in the Championship, which I’m sure he will.

Far better mobility than Rob Jones but does the ugly stuff equally as good. That makes him better for me. He's achieved less than Jones but Jones had a team around him.

All he needed were games and responsibility. He has it all. Rarely wastes and pass, immense when he needs to be, hard as nails, comfortable on the ball. And if his nose gets broken a few more times it’ll end up straight again.

I remember we were all not that sure even though he got decent ish reviews, his playing out gave us reason to doubt him but jeeze his determination deserves a 30 to 60 year contract

Two years ago, in only his second home game for us, against Fleetwood, he was selected in the EFL team of the week, and yet lots of people on here were still slagging him off, and didn't even appreciate his MOM performance at Rotherham.

I remember writing a long post rebuking those criticisms, and some people were still suggesting that Joe Wright would walk straight back into the team after injury at Tom's expense.

Some of our supporters just don't look at the bigger picture.

He is not as vocal as Rob Jones and probably not as natural a leader but actually as a player he is better. His distribution is better definitely and he is quicker.
But we didn’t get Rob Jones until he was well into his 30’s & we got Anderson when he was 23/24 so he is not at his peak yet as only 25/26 now.

In top 3 centre halves I've ever seen at this level. An absolute joy to watch.

Only thing he needs to do to surpass RJ is score a couple of last minute winners

We’d have won that game if he’d hadn’t had his nose broken and been knocked out. He was immense that day.

I’m sure that if he tried it now he might be a few teeth short when he next bites an opponent.

Colour is irrelevant. He is League 1’s equivalent of Van Dyke.

He’s got to be one of the top 3 defenders int he league for me.

As was Jones the season we went up.

But need a few more goals from him to reach Jones status in my opinion.

He’s outstanding though, can’t brlieve he’s so young too.

Jones got better the longer he played and was pivotal when we got back to the Championship we goals , many in the last few minutes of matches . I’d paid big £ to watch him and Anderson play each week a proverbial brick wall .

He only played 12 matches for us back in the Championship before he wrapped himself around a post and did his neck.

He deserved the MOTM vote last night and it was great to see / hear him speaking after the game on SKY.  Joe Wright deserves a mention too, as they are developing a very good understanding between themselves and the full backs.
