Support at Sunderland

Thought it was excellent. Loud and appreciative. As far as I could see those who wanted to stand, stood, those who wanted to sit, sat. It worked.  One or two murmurings of discontent but that will always be the case and it was drowned out by the lloud vocal backing.

My 16 year old, who is a NUFC season ticket holder and who on occasions goes away with them, reckons it was the best atmosphere he has been in this season.

We both went to St James today. Oxford much the better team. Loving a 0-0 at the minute.

How many travelled

I’d say just over 1000 which is impressive for a Friday night away match that is on the TV.

I haven't seen a figure for our support on Friday but it was higher than I expected given that it was a Friday night game on TV.  I was surprised they didn't show it on the big screen along with the total attendance.  Hopefully it will be in a home programme as soon as they can include it.

No figures given but my estimate would be 900 to 1000.
