Young player same age to me on loan at Matlock has unfortunately passed away after he was found with a fractured skull last night after a night out in Retford.

God bless you Jordan. Love to you & yours.

Lee Sinnott’s son. Shocking and tragic. RIP. One punch is all it takes - it’s a message that needs publicising more.

Shocking. Hope they've found who did it and lock him up forever

Large brawl took place in the town centre outside Spoons in the car park. 2 others were hospitalised. One had a broken jaw.

Quite correct. And I know from first hand experience. Yes, I'm still alive, but multiple skull fractures, two brain haemorrhages, a broken rib and nit been able to walk for a week or so made me wonder for a while.

My attacker got a year inside, out after a day under three months. Hey ho, at least I'm still here

He nearly killed you, and then walked after 3 months. The bas**rd shouldn't have seen daylight for 10 years.

What a pathetic, stupidly soft justice system we have in this country. No wonder criminals and scumbags walk out of courts laughing.

Steve, I'm in a fortunate position. My colleagues knew who'd done it because the piece of shit who did it had been in Scarborough for the weekend from Rotherham and had been causing trouble all night.
CCTV was too far away for a positive id, but good interviewing skills made him think he was as tied up as a kipper so he pleaded guilty. That's a 40% reduction in sentence straight away.
Second anniversary tomorrow. I shall celebrate still being alive by going out and getting pissed!! 😄😄
And don't get me started on the criminal injuries compensation authority!!

I remember your account of it at the time and it makes me shudder to think of your experience mrfrostsdad.
The time served by this animal was absolutely disgraceful; totally inadequate.
It boggles the mind to imagine the mentality of someone who could do that to another person for absolutely no reason whatsoever.

Thank God you're still hear to tell the tale. I hope the mental scars are healing as well as the physical ones.

As for Jordan Sinnott - what a tragic and unnecessary end to a young man's life.

It is a tragic waste of life.
Since my incident two years ago (today) we've had a couple in Scarborough/Whitby who didn't wake up (well reported, so not telling tales out of school)
It's not necessarily the punch that causes a lot of the issues, but more if you land on your head, which is how the majority of my injuries were caused.
Fortunately, or maybe unfortunately whichever way you look at it, I remember nothing of the actual incident. I remember what happened before and a paramedic waking me up when I was found unconscious (strangely enough at the other side of town)
I was back at work after four months, but the psychological aspect took longer. I was fortunate enough to be able to pay for a psychotherapist privately.
This poor guy doesn't have that opportunity.

Just seen on Facebook that Jordan's brother is trying to obtain a shirt from any club that will donate them and have 'Sinnott 25' on the back of them for the funeral. After the funeral, his family are looking to donate all the shirts provided to children abroad for them to wear.

Have we been contacted as a club is anyone aware? If not, I'd like to contribute to the cause.

Tragic story. I have just picked up a replica shirt signed by the team from a winning ticket in the Rovers lottery, I could donate that if someone lets me know where to take it.

DRFC have confirmed they have donated a shirt with Sinnott 25 on it. Joe Wright also played with him several years ago and posted a message.

I see one of the lads charged with manslaughter connected to this lads death appears to be a "supporter" of the Rovers. Friend of Coppinger's too, at least on Facebook. Perhaps someone who knows James might want to point that out to him assuming it's really his account.
