In desperate need of positivity...
« on January 27, 2020, 02:56:33 pm by LizzieKeegan »
Surely I am not the only one who is pleased with this Cole signing?

Genuinely surprised people can still find a way to turn this into criticism of the board.

Can someone please share my positive mindset with me? I'm hoping this is what we'll need to become a bit more consistent in the final third :scarf: :scarf: :scarf:

Hopefully the first of more signings this week..

Contract length aside, Cole seems to fit what we are lacking.  Hopefully he’ll prove DM was right with a decent scoring return in the coming weeks.

I sort of see the point in a short term contract provisionally, if he isn't a fit he can go and if not there's an option to extend it. Avoid paying unnecessary wages that could be spent on someone else who might be a better fit.

Do we think at some point this strange campaign against Blunt will end?

Sign a few more players and some of the dissenters will be quiet for a while, but there is always going to be a scapegoat.. sadly..

Yeah I really think we are a couple of creative attacking players away from a very competitive squad.

Even if that means a dreaded PL loan, not ideal but something literally every team does.

Radio Sheffield hinting there's more to come.

Thing is, we don't need too much to swing the balance in the final third that can make the difference. We have another option now and someone who has some experience and is still young enough to learn.

Ideally two more for me - another striker/forward fox in the box type player, and an attacking midfielder.. that or a cover player for the RB position..

I think Matty Blair is good enough cover for Haliday. Great going forward and carrying the ball and doesn't shirk a tackle.

I want someone who cuts a Chris Brown esque figure, was disappointed when Madine and Akinde went elsewhere as I think it's a great option in what is a very physical league. A creative attacking mid would be nice as we see less and less of Copps.

Very excited to see what DM brings in next 😍😍

Another striking option and a midfielder with more attacking dynamism than the Bens and that is fine for this window.

I’m positive about it, simply because I trust that DM knows what he’s doing more than some of the members of this forum think they do.

Decent signing. Right age, has potential and has been a relative success at our level before. We need to face the facts that we aren't going to be signing the big name forwards that have been thrown about on here. Let's hope he's a massive success and wants to sign a contract extension before the end of the season.

Lizzie you’ve got to remember half the forum is just out for a moan. Most of them don’t even make sense half the time. So ignore them.

We’ve signed a striker who has the potential to solve our scoring problems. Perfect. No long term risk but potential to be with us past the end of the season. Perfect.

What the lad now needs is our support. He needs cheering and encouraging. If we want a player to come in and build his confidence then tomorrow at home to Southend is the best start, on paper, we could possibly give him.

Good luck Mr Cole

I really do think he is what we need, I saw a video of his goals for Motherwell and I think he has potential to make our half chances into genuine goal scoring opportunities due to the positions he seems to be able to get in. In DM we trust.

It has to be a good thing to sign a striker, what else can it be?

Good signing.
Sure DM will get the best out of him. He is good at doing that.

Think there will be one or two more before the end of the week.

We did get told that the first signing would lead on to the next one.
Hopefully that follows now.

I can't see that many at all of those on here have sufficient knowledge of football with which to constructively criticise. And there will be even less with knowledge of the objectives, constraints and wishes of either Devante Cole or Doncaster Rovers.

So, until it's proven otherwise, a lot of what we we see on here today is a reflection of the people making the comments.
