You can read the ITEN Match Preview here: https://www.intotheemptynet.com/post/iten-match-preview-tranmere-a-1.

We did discuss the possibility of Darren making a couple of changes but didn't envision Sheaf or Taylor dropping out! Tranmere have switched back to a 3-4-1-2 as we predicted but with a couple of different players in the central positions, including Luke McCullough coming into midfield for his first start since joining his new club permanently.

Not quite sure what to make of it tonight, but let's hope it's effective. Will be very interesting to see what Ramsey and Cole do with their opportunities.

Surprised that James not back in, in place of John.

Cole's looked decent when he's played so far. Ramsey will be very interesting. Could be a new Kane.

Copps has an ankle injury. Maybe that is why he has been a bit quiet recently, now we have more cover time to allow him to recover properly. Good luck to Cole and Ramsey tonight, not the best of pitches to make a debut on, but let's have a substantial win Rovers!

Getting a bit annoyed by the preference of John at left back James is clearly better. Understand for a one off in a set piece heavy game, with the pitch today that’s hopefully the reason. Not that it helped v fleetwood

Just afraid we alienate our own contracted players in favour of loanees who we’ve no hope of signing. Would understand if John was better than James at left back but he’s not

As said on the other thread, thought he would put Ramsey in although no idea that Copps injured.

I would prefer James and my fear is perhaps he's thinking more about the opposition than us.

I hoped we would get back to the consistency we have from both full backs but, he knows best.

We need to get on top of these from the off.

James is on the bench so maybe he's being ease back in or it's a rotation against weaker teams

Eased back in from what??

We don’t want to be messing about with it at the back on this pitch that’s a certainty

Strange team selection if you ask me, but hopefully I’m proven wrong over the next couple of hours.

I too can’t get my head around John over James. James has been one of our best performers this season. It feels as if John is being accommodated when it’s not his best position.

Taylor’s one of our better players too so surprised to see him dropped, but maybe that’s just rotation with the volume of games.

Said in another thread, James on the bench is criminal and everybody but Moore can see it it seems.

Hopefully get a win tonight and back on track, these are the types of games we need to be winning. Would snap your hand off for a 1-0 smash and grab off a defenders arse to be honest.

James hasn’t been injured - he was man of the match against Southend and then benched for Fleetwood.

DM has said everyone will get their time in/out, due to the volume of games.

DM will have his reasons for the team selections.  If folks are concerned about James not playing, then call the radio Sheffield phone in and eat ruen to ask DM..

The pitch is very worn out, it looks very like the old Keepmoat

Why shouldnt people be able to question any of Darren Moore’s decisions on this forum? Criticising his choices shouldn’t be taboo!

It's really is a strange team selection.

John at LB and Madger over Sheaf/Taylor. Just why?

Just a concern leaving Sheaf out means we might not be as fluid in midfield. Gomes needs a big game tonight.

Eh.?

Where did I say folks shouldn’t do that.?

I was only pointing out a way where fans might be able to get an answer from DM, rather that just swapping opinions on here...

I wonder if the pitch has played a part in Taylor not playing. He's best running with the ball. I suspect they'll be previous little of that this evening.

Shall we all quit discussing matters on here and instead phone RS to ask for a personal debate with Darren Moore?

Radio commentary suggesting that Tranmere are slightly on top and getting the ball forward much more quickly than us.

Again, missing he point.. we an debate on here until the cows come home, but if there is a way of reaching the manager, why not.?

It’s a simple point and not aimed any anyone in particular and not to stifle debate on here..

Mountains and molehills spring to mind..
