I believe the loss of Reece will be massive for us.
CJ is also a very good defender but going forward, he is nothing like the threat that RJ  offers.
There were a couple of times in the second half on Tuesday when he was played in behind the Bolton right back and his delivery into the box was awful.
I feel sure that in the same situation that RJ would have done much better.

Maybe it’s Danny Amos’ chance

Believe you got the wrong end of the stick there, sir.

BST's comment was positive as I believe most of us thought it was a season ender.

Now that CJ will be playing there for a quite few games , maybe they will work on that aspect of his game in training.
He's a quality player who will be willing to learn and adapt.
I bet we see a big difference in his crossing and deliveries in in a few games times.

Whilst I do agree with you Hound, hopefully the knowledge that he has the shirt (in all likelihood) during Reece's absence means he'll be able to work on those aspects of his game that are lacking as a full back. He seems an intuitive kid and someone who can make quick improvements in areas like that.

It also shines a new light on his recent appearances at left back, means he has some experience there for us rather than being thrown in cold at the position.

And we also have Amos..

Hope Reece can recover as he will be ideal for the last part of the season..

Maybe some of you that's more medically adept than me can put me right here. I was led to believe that there was no break or fracture, just a badly gashed shin.

Why on earth would that require surgery?

To the two posters above, yep, I hope it happens and I have no doubt that this will be worked on.
Reece is a natural there though and that makes a big difference.

I generally agree with you about CJ but he did put in a brilliant cross from the by line at Tranmere for Ramsey’s 2nd goal.

I doubt anyone on the forum knows the extent and detail of the injury, so it’s impossible to comment on the news for surgery.

I doubt that would have been carried out unnecessarily.?

The article I've just read on DROS says he'll rest and rejoin the squad in 7 to 10 days so sounds like it's just the gash and no other muscle or ligament damage. I hope he's back up to speed quickly and only miss 2 or 3 games.

It will have required stitches to ensure that the wound has time to heal safely

That's what I thought Bedale. It's just that I've never heard stitches described as surgery.

Internal stitches? Sounds like a nasty gash.

Speedy recovery to the lad, big bonus it's only a month, could have been a lot worse.

For the header? Niall Ennis put that cross in after playing a one-two with John.
