CV charity event
« on April 25, 2020, 01:44:44 pm by BillyStubbsTears »
A mate of mine at work is ex-US Marines, and is doing an insane challenge for charity today. He's aiming to do 1000 press-ups in an hour. He's asked for anyone supporting him to donate to whichever charity they support.

I've decided, idiot that I am, to have a go with him. I'm aiming at 500 in the hour. I'll let you know how it's gone when I can lift my hands up to the keyboard later this weekend. I'm putting in £50 to a local foodbank group in Sheffield and I've told him I'll double it if he hits 1000 in the hour.

Give you some impression of what my colleague is trying to do. His plan is to do 25 press ups then rest for 1 minute. Then repeat.

Ok, so I overestimated myself. Was  going fine initially. Hit 200 around 18 minutes and 250 around 24 minutes. Then I hit a wall. No pain. Nothing sore. Just simply no physical ability to do another one. Like someone had surgically removed my pecs.

My mate the ex Marine did the 1000 in 91 minutes. Chuffing incredible.

And cheers RD. I might have another go next week and see if I can pace it better.

No need RD. The idea is just to pay it to whatever charity you want.
