Based on some CCTV clips I've seen, that lad was extremely lucky. We could have been looking at a murder case. 8 youths versus one lad on the floor!!!

On a different incident, that w**ker that ran over the old bloke with his quad is being charged with GBH with intent, that carries a life sentence

As far as the gang from Barnsley go, they deserve to get a slap from everyone that they meet every time that they go out. They might then reflect on the impact of their actions.

I agree with what most have said regarding the mugging, when watching the video the camera follows the action meaning that is was controlled by someone?

If my memory is correct from military training a few years ago, anyone can perform a citizen’s arrest for an arrestable offence which can potentially carry a 5 year prison sentence.

The main examples are assault, and criminal damage.  Not that giving someone one slap outside a pub or keying someone’s car would get a 5 year sentence, but that the offences such as assault could get a 5 year sentence in the appropriate circumstances.

If these scrotes are known criminals or troublemakers then there may be other evidence of other offences to add to this one, to warrant a custodial sentence.

Problem is, those scumbags would probably see it as a badge of honour.

I’m against the lynch mob mentality as it is all to easy to wrongly accuse someone, but sometimes when you see those scenes it is difficult to retain that thought.

I agree IDM but some idiots are impervious to reason and only understands violence. Maybe receiving a bit back might change them.
Years ago when I worked on the Pru my debit was in Thurnscoe.
One day I was talking to an old ex-miner that was a customer about some yobs that had caused bother. He said that in the 30s there was one local who would fight anybody a bit of a bruiser. He said that the change in this guy was after he received the birch. He said that he told him that it was horrible and he never ever wanted that again. He said the guy turned himself completely round and became respected.
I deplore violence but it is the only language that some understand.

Without wanting to denigrate the incident at all, does anybody buy that this is supposed to be CCTV footage? It doesn't half change direction at lot, and at quite a speed.
