The values of Michael Gove
« on May 13, 2020, 06:37:47 pm by BillyStubbsTears »
So Gove, who was, with Johnson, the face of Vote Leave, now runs the Cabinet Office.

The Cabinet Office has just appointed four new Directors. These are tax-payer funded positions, with very unclear roles. It is also far from clear what the recruitment process is.

Three of the 4 are:

-The ex-Director of Vote Leave.

-The ex-head of digital communications for Vote Leave.

-Gove's ex-girlfriend.

Are we officially in Banana Republic territory yet?

I think we have been a failed state for some years.
We don't even have any bananas, so that must be the reason we are not a republic.

At least we can act as a warning to others. Countries emerging from despots and dictators might need to look at our downfall in recent years.

Oh yes. I forgot.

The Cabinet Office says there was an open and transparent recruitment process. Although unlike other Govt Depts, they have no published what this process is.

Here is the job spec by the way.

https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&url=https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/878078/Cabinet_Office_Non_Executive_Board_Members.pdf&ved=2ahUKEwi01qfgt7HpAhULJ8AKHd4NCfIQFjAKegQIAxAB&usg=AOvVaw0j3Z-PMcqAZgUuc2yq-LCL&cshid=1589393620958

You will note that it refers to "business and personal conflicts of interest" as having to be declared and entered on a publicly available register.

Be interesting to see if Gove's ex-girlfriend has declared anything for her 1-2 day per month £15,000 per year new job.

I've just had a look at the Cabinet Office Board of Directors Register of Interests.

Might be a bit of a wait. It's not been updated since December 2017...

I detest Gove with NO passion

Am I allowed to ask again - if we wanted to leave the EU to take back control by avoiding being "governed by unelected bureaucrats" are we with these appointments and a number of new Cabinet Members made up to Baron and Baroness flying 100% in the face of that principle ?

The words 'values' and 'Michael Gove' are mutually exclusive!  A truly detestable man.
