AI
« on June 15, 2020, 01:11:07 pm by SydneyRover »
Just watched a prog about AI and China's growing surveillance and facial recognition etc. There was a bit about Alexa and how it gathers info regarding your mood, if you sneeze or cough to build on it's knowledge about your health. I wonder in the future that if you went do see your dentist for instance it could be on silent mode in the background collecting info about you and matching you up it you have it at home too. I don't use it.

Massive threat to privacy.

Google, which owns YouTube, also now owns FitBit. So they have the ability to assess your physiological response to the adverts they send you.

The nest great challenge is somehow bringing these companies under control and limiting their ability to effectively own our private lives.

I've been saying this for a few years now, that it's only a matter of time when we're all connected and our vital health details are monitored 24/7.

We won't be waiting for that heart attack, or the stroke that will maim us, we'll get a call and be told to attend the nearest A&E dept to be dealt with before it all goes wrong.

If that ever did happen I feel sure that lots of people would complain that the government was interfering with their private life.

I know I'm probably going to piss people off here but here goes.

5g towers being thrown up in week 1and 2 of lockdown.

Week 3 (I think) Elon musks starlink satalites racing across the sky.

T&T going live around the world.
Singaporeans wearing ankle tags.

AI.

my watch automatically measures various health aspects and gives an alert if they are out of normal operating ranges and suggests seeking medical advice.  Surely this isn't a bad thing?

The problem is who gets the information NHS data has already been sold to the Americans I presume it's because they want to buy the NHS and sell their drugs.

It's all about Govt acting in a way that inspires confidence that they will act in the interests of the general population, not to line the pockets of a few rich and powerful people.

We accepted huge Govt intervention in our private concerns in the post-War era because there was a feeling that they were genuinely acting to improve society. We need to get back to that sort of social pact. I'll perfectly well accept more Govt control over me if it means a better life for my kids and grandkids.

The Starlink satellites started being launched over a year ago.
