A truly great man who probably did more than anyone to bring The Troubles in NI to a relatively peaceful end. We need more of his sort. Politicians who try to find what unites us, instead of hammering at what divides us.

Living in N Ireland I think he’s probably the only politician that I have not heard anyone have a bad word for
He was regarded as a genuine man. If only all the rest were the same this country would be a far better place

Agreed, I’ve seen the news coverage of his passing ,he was respected by 99% of both sides of the divide
