Saw that too. Bizarre - does he think if he just takes on a positive attitude, the virus will clear off?

Aren’t doctors obliged not to discuss their patients ailments with other people.

Doctors are not supposed to do a lot of things, its come out this week that one of our Ex Doctors at Stainforth was practising without indemnity insurance for 2 years!

Looks like Trump's team are as contemptuous of the intellect of their own supporters as the Brexit crew were over here. Chuck them any old shite as long as it's what they want to hear and they'll be happy. None of them are intelligent enough to...y'know...actually look at whether the evidence is correct and honest.

Imagine the rules are different in the case of POTUS, where people will expect updates. But to be fair it's not that he's withholding info, it's that he appears to be providing false info.

Question is, has he even got the virus or is this a nice handy distraction after his shocking effort in the debate

There have been some interesting points put forward by several political pundits on some of the news channels regarding the current situation.

With Trump's illness, and the fact that he's in his 70s and overweight, and Biden approaching 78 and having suffered 2 serious aneurisms in the past, the possibility of neither of them making it through the next 4 years as President is very real.

This would bring into play the American Constitution ruling that if a President dies, or is incapacitated, the Vice-President is immediately sworn in as President.

That makes next week's Vice-Presidential live debate, which is normally just a sideshow, take on a different significance, as many floating voters may scrutinise who comes over the most Presidential looking, between Pence and Harris.

How can Pence take part in that debate? I thought he was such a fundamentalist Christian that he refused to be alone in the presence of a woman?

Course, Pence's principles haven't stopped him working for a President who has been accused of rape by several women, who has boasted that he grabs women by the pussy, and who has made lascivious remarks about going girls and his own daughter.

Funny things, principles.

Interesting. Got there in the end.
yes hope my answer was worth it

No, it was b*llocks.

That Johnson and his cronies have lied since the brexit campaign and in government -lies which affect everyone including your loved ones - doesn’t bother you..

Doesn’t mean that others wouldn’t be any better - that’s not what I’m saying - but why you seem to defend certain things is beyond me.

As for Trump, I’m wondering if he will use this episode not to delay the election but to gain sympathy voters.?
I reckon I could post numerous links of every British pm lying several times, of all parties, but that has not stopped you voting and defending labour has it? Why?

A it’s none of your business who i vote for, and

B, it wasn’t Labour.

So you can do one you bell end..

But Pence would only be President to the end of Trump's term in January, unless elected for another term.

How can he take part in the debate as he has recently been in the presence of someone who tested positive and therefore should be self-isolating for 14 days?

Are they going to do it virtually?

You've missed the point of my thread GW, and what the political pundits are suggesting. The concern is the next 4 years after the Election, in which either of those 2 candidates could easily suffer death or severe illness.

In that case, it would be either Pence or Harris having to be sworn in as President. Hence the scrutiny over the next few weeks.

I see his Press Secretary has tested positive too now.

In other news, he reckons he's leaving hospital tonight.

1) He's on dexamethasone which is only supposed to be used in serious lung damage cases.

2) He's going home.

Take your pick. One of two things is happening. He's either not been seriously ill and this is a scam. Or he IS still seriously ill but he knows he's shot if he doesn't get back to campaigning.

With all these various people in the whitehouse getting the virus and the chaotic nature of events not that the latter is unusual I can't see how it won't now have an effect on his reelection bid.

Dexamethasone

''They can affect about 5 in every 100 people taking medicines like Dexamethasone. These include: feeling high (mania), very happy (euphoria) or moods that go up and down. feeling anxious or irritable, having problems sleeping, difficulty in thinking or being confused and losing your memory''

Anyone noticed these symtoms in trump?

So he's left, despite supposedly having a still-active case of Corona. Either he's spreading it to all and sundry knowingly or he doesn't really have it.

Either way MM, this is straight out of House of Cards.

I stopped watching that when Trump was elected. It went, overnight, from being a brilliantly ridiculous, OTT drama, to being a crap satire of reality.

I mean, he doesn't look well at all. https://twitter.com/brenonade/status/1313256208363552769?s=20

Gasping for air, frail, about to keel over.

I don't know what to believe, but I do know not to believe Donald Trump.

Jesus wept.

Just stop and think.

If he loses next month, that's worse for him than dragging himself off his dexamethasone drip and risking his life.

Just stop and think.

What does he have to worry about if he loses?

I've just seen the Trump footage from last night. Gasping and grimacing. He doesn't look well.

Taken together with the haste in which his drug therapies have been administered and the rather scripted style of the medical briefing I'd suggest Trump is managing his own therapy.

Politically he wants a fast, robust recovery. Well, we will see, he's three days into a three week infection. Reality might still intrude on this theatre.

He has a phobia of hospitals so I'd wager he's still being pumped full of steroids and oxygen at the White House. The only difference is he's now infecting every poor f**ker who comes into contact with him.
