Graham Alexander sacked by Salford after not only getting them out of the Conference but they’re currently in a healthy 5th place and unbeaten so far this term - from the outside this looks extremely harsh & to rub salt into the wound by putting one of their joint owners Paul Scholes into the managers chair - you’d have thought he could get a managers job elsewhere rather than relying on his mates the Nevilles, Butts & Giggs etc to appoint himself

Wouldn’t it be good if they spiral down the league now.

Hope so. Anything could have happened in the boardroom but from an outsider looking in seems very harsh

But it’s not money saving they have to pay up his contract they sacked him - I can see Scholes doing the job voluntarily though

There’s a lot of money been put into that club so I’m not especially surprised that the owners might be impatient - apparently they struggled in the second half of last season, play poor football and there wasn’t any real sign of improvement in the first few games so far.

I wouldn’t read anything into Scholes taking over either - will be a short term appointment only.
