Sean Dyche
« on December 05, 2020, 05:19:09 pm by StocktonRover »
Just heard him whinging about today's game and he actually said the following (paraphrased).

"It doesn't matter if it's a foul or not, it should have been a penalty.... he touched him and it's given almost all of the time elsewhere"

What a w**ker that man is.

I like Sean Dyche TBH - he is only saying what is the common ground nowadays..... the game has been going downhill for ages now........ especially at the highest level.

What a bizarre thing to say. How should it be a penalty if there's no foul?

Think he’s saying normally a touch is a penalty in most prem games even if it’s not enough to bring someone down. He’ll only want a pen for that be every other team would get one not because it’s the right thing

Taken straight from BBC sport site , can see what he's saying to be fair That for me is deemed a foul in modern football. I don't actually agree that should be a foul but the rules and the way football pans out now, virtually every week that gets given," said Burnley manager Sean Dyche.

"There was low-level contact on his shoulder, knee and foot but he still went over. I see it every week - those in the middle of the pitch are given all the time. Lo and behold when we need it: not given. It's happened too many times this season.

"I ask my players not to roll around the floor, I ask them not to squeal or dive. But it's actually costing us and it cost us here."

Used to like Sean but I think the Prem is spoiling him now, the comments about why should the big boys help the smaller clubs out, now this. Losing touch with reality it seems.

Still though, it’s nice to see the olde Saxon word for ditch in use, even as a surname.

Agree he is an excellent manager. Done a brilliant job at Burnley.

He has come out with some stupid comments recently and needs to think about what he is saying.
Think he may have forgotten his footballing roots and who gave him his start in the pro game.

Starting to lose the respect I had for him.

Why should lower end premier league teams give money to championship clubs? They could potentially replace them next season. Also in alot of cases the owners in the championship are vastly wealthy individuals. Just look at the geezer at wednesday hes worth billions so are the coates at stoke.

So you’re against the bailout then. Without lower league clubs there would be no premier league.

Clubs need to cut their cloth accordingly. We have been living beyond our means for years as have most clubs in the football league.

At some point this madness of spending 160% of your income on wages has to stop.

If the leagues behind the Premier League fall and the teams go bust, there is no Premier League. There certainly is no Burnley FC anymore.

I've lost all respect for Dyche, and he is a serial whinger after games too. For a man who spent his playing career at Chesterfield and Northampton and manages a club who have spent most of their recent history in the lower divisions, his comments at the start of the season talking about Tesco and hedge funds was so ignorant and clueless that it just completely put me off listening to anything he has to say.

His team play wretched football nowadays too. He's done a great job there but they've gone backwards fast since getting into Europe a few seasons ago.

Not all clubs are badly run and overspend. Rovers for example live within their means. Yes the board make a contribution every year to balance the books.
Many excellent well run clubs would go to the wall without this financial help. Are you saying you are happy with that scenario?

Not even slightly. At no point have I said that. What I have said is clubs are living beyond their means.

Clubs living beyond their means has resulted in situations where teams like Macclesfield and Bury have become vulnerable to asset strippers and cowboys.
