I remember watching one at the end of something my dad had recorded on vhs

The manager not sure who it is, is in the changing room giving his team talk. Must be the div 3 relegation season

He says something along the lines of ‘we’re a laughing stock! Fans are like hows my favourite team geting on, hows my second favourite team going on, are Doncaster rovers losing !!’

Was it “The Big Match” with Martin Tyler.?

I don’t remember us being on too often..

I do remember one particular game (1982.?) home vs Portsmouth.

We had the usual pre-match entertainment with the majorette troupe who put their banner right in front of the home team tunnel so that it would be seen on telly.. Young Snod played wide left when we attacked the town end - to be closer to the camera on the pop stand we all thought at the time.. must have been looking to sell himself..

I think it ended 0-0.

Just discovered this page. Rovers were very much ignored, 4 games in 15 years, and 3 of them were away games......

Not like us being ignored - I noticed sky were showing play off finals, I either missed it or ours wasn’t on. Can’t be based on quality of the game as Fleetwood v Burton wasn’t exactly thrill a minute. BTW Matty Blair was playing for Fleetwood

Joe Laidlaw scored the winner but Jack Lewis had already completed a hat-trick against his former club.

That was Mark Weaver at the Deva Stadium towards the end of season 97/98.

Vicar was being facetious as the joke was we hardly ever featured and when we did, it was to see the other team.

The only two I can remember in those late 60s, 70s was Bradford Park Avenue, and Barnsley at home when Barnsley were pushing for promotion under Allan Clarke.

A complication of all the matches shown on ITV (Inc YTV, Keith Macklin) 1970/71.

I'm sure this will jog some fond memories. 90 mins long!

Is that the one where the first half was in colour but the second half in black & white because the floodlights weren't powerful enough?

I think he'd left by then.
I remember him scoring for us in a Friday night game against Portsmouth in the 70s.it was just when things were beginning to click under Billy Bremner.

When Laidlaw was at Portsmouth didn’t he get caught nicking other players stuff from the changing rooms?

I seem to remember a home 2-2 with Barnsley. As well as the 4-3 with Grimsby.
