Phenomenal run. But just going to add my note of caution...

As BST says, this run has been done with a thread bare squad. 10 very tough games in 5 weeks, starting Saturday will push this squad beyond breaking point I fear. I think it’s imperative we add a bit of depth to help the first 11 out. DM has little choice in rotation at the moment and we cannot expect the same 11 to play 2 games per week in the run we’ve got coming up.

I hope folks don’t get carried away, there’s a heck of a long way to go yet and we’ll know much more by March 3rd

But, on average 75 points gets a play off place.  So that would be 33 points from 25 games - doesn't feel quite so tough to get that target, but we are surely aiming for the top 2?

I think DM will continue to rotate as he assesses every individual game on its merits. Up to now I've never been a fan of rotation but I think this season it's a case of needs must but we've seen the benefits of that so I bow to DM's expertise.

With DF it was about systems, where as with DM it's about a system and players adapting to it and being supported and encouraged. Still early days but without that approach, the loss of Whiteman would have hurt us more..

This sets us up nicely and I would think we are as well prepared for the second half of the season as anyone perhaps with the exception of an alternative striker.

With DM's superior experience at Prem League level, he knows what it takes to fight for every point on offer and how to prepare the players.

Heart and head will be doing battle for the rest of the season but every reason to be excited and optimistic.

Where have all the board bashers gone btw? Just a shame they can't put as much energy and passion into celebrating success and sharing it with us.

By the way, ending the season like this will almost certainly secure a playoff spot now.
P25 W10 D4-6 L9-11

P24 W9 D4-6 L9-11 will get us a playoff spot now. It's bordering on unthinkable that we won't do that.

Stupid boy Pike.

Seem to remember you saying something similar about staying up leading up to the dreadful run when we got relegated in the final game at Leicester!

52 points the first target!

If Darren Moore had been managing the team for those last seven games we wouldn't have gone down.

Maybe I am living in a different universe, but I don't see why we are talking about the playoffs when we are currently top 2 potential.

I said how many points would be needed to stay up. If Dickov had shown any sense and targeted that number of points rather than 50, we would have stayed up.

Because
a) It is a very competitive league with several very big clubs challenging.
b) It is much more difficult this far out to predict how many points will be needed for a top 2 place.
c) First target is to have SOMETHING to play for at the end of the season.

So is a playoff spot pretty well in the bag as the minimum we will get now?

P23 W8 D4-6 L9-11 will most likely be enough for the second half of the season. Barring horrendous luck with injuries, it's difficult to see us not getting 30 points in half a season.
