I think man of the match for me is Joe Wright, as against Blackburn he is the standout player, and looks like he could play a level above league one. Everyone else apart from Taylor Richards looked too scared to play. Brad Halliday is the best from the rest.

We been beaten by better side but without the midfield three together of Whiteman Richards and Smith we have work horses with no quality. Richards and Smith together plus another quality player will make us look better in the league.

Smith showed without the other two next to him he couldn’t do the clever passes

Let’s hope we can get them signed and ready so we now can concentrate on the league

Only James, Halliday, Richards, and Simoes came out with any credit today.

Whiteman isn’t in the equation, he doesn’t play for Donny.

I know that but the point is we need another of similar quality if we can

I think some posts today were far too critical of the team.
A bit of perspective is needed.

We all knew that we had no chance if WHU were on it and I thought they were very good.  I don’t think we should lay into our players too much- even at our own level we don’t look the best technically so it’s not really fair to judge them against good PL opposition- if anything it only demonstrates again what a fantastic job DM is doing with limited resources but a great team spirit

Perspective they have a wage bill.of over 130 million, play a strong side and we will struggle. We played a few good moves second half, 4 was a bit harsh.

But we still had too many weaknesses and it's clear what's needed this week if we want to get promoted and we have a brilliant opportunity to do so. It's in our hands.

Bodies needed asap, fully expected to get beat today, I expected more from us though, leaving Richards out for me was criminal, easily our best creative player at the moment

I don't think criticism is really towards the players as such,  more the fact that a portion of the team were strangely played out of position for what ever reason..   Who knows what would have happened if halliday and Richards played from the start in their rightful position?

They had about 30 quality players to pick from. We had a patched up team with square pegs in round holes. Light in midfield and nowt up front.
We need some decent players in quick.

Let’s at least give team some credit.they were playing against some top class players.we are unfortunately a bit depleted in strength due to many circumstances.the team picked itself.two or three new players in next week and we will be up and running.must be some tired legs after today. :scarf:

I wouldn't say it was that bad - Crewe and Charlton drew at home and Portsmouth got humped...

Just looked and Peterborough won without having a shot on goal...

Yeah and Pompey got beat 4-0 by a team from L1 not by a PL team.
