Halliday started at Middlesborough didn't he? Not far from Guisborough.

Copps was the best co-commentator of the season. Gave a real insight into the team.
He even was mildly critical a couple of times when most gloss over it. For example Fej holding onto the ball.

Think he has a soft spot as they are from same part of world. Also sounds like they had same journey in their careers, starting in Premier League and going backwards.

Not exactly true, CBCB; Reece is a broad Lancastrian.

Born in Bacup. Started his career with Rossendale Utd.
think he was on about halliday

Halliday didn't play for a Premier League side.

anyone hear the bit where he says DM embraces his experience and welcomes having a luitenant in the dressing room,  then goes on to say not all his previous managers have felt that way..

Mmm. Wonder who he's talking about?

Quite agree, as someone else mentioned earlier, he seemed to know where every pass was gonna go & who'd move where etc, the boys are clearly well drilled.
Also loved how excited he got at a good pass, tackle or when we scored. Clearly still loves it after all these years

James is one we really needed to be tying down to a new contract. He could easily play for a bottom half championship team. Quality player

On that subject, there was talk recently about whether Reece and one or two others had been offered new deals.
Has anyone heard whether this has progressed.
Apologies if this has been mentioned elsewhere already.

I didn't say he did. I said he'd started in the Premier League, which is where Newcastle were when Halliday was in the youth set up there. He didn't make it there or Boro, where he was also in the youth set up. Like Copps he had to move on and start right from bottom tiers, to work back up.

Fair enough; just semantics. I thought you were talking about their senior careers, during which both Copps and Reece actually played in a first team game for their Premier League clubs.

Nice to see Brad doing so well, I remember many people being very critical of him early last season  -  as with everything else footy related patience us often a virtue too many don't have.

Looking at your last bit reminds me of some of the contributions from “fans” on the match ticker on bbc website for the Man Utd vs Blades game last night.  When a player or a team has an off day, it doesn’t mean there is a problem or something wrong behind the scenes..  some folks need to get a grip..

Do you mean Reece played in the Premiership?
Who for?

I think he played a cup match for Man Utd. Don't think he ever played a PL match.

2006/07 was the final season of the FA (Barclays) Premiership.
