One eyed view

Funny how you watch a game of football.
Just had a browse of a Lincoln forum, now I don’t think anyone would say we weren’t under the cosh for a large amount of the game today.
But one poster claimed we were set up like a relegation threatened team, lucky to come away with the points.
Totally outplayed us , and they’re basically a shoe in for promotion.

Well, they had two pennos saved and hit the bar and missed a sitter first half. So it’s understandable that they feel aggrieved.

However.

The lads defended resolutely. Took the chance when it came and when Madger came on, Lincoln ran out of ideas.

Horses for courses and Darren Moore got it spot on today for me.

And look at the injuries and new players we have to come into contention.

They were overly confident leading up to the game, so are probably feeling very sore at present. Relegation threatened team....look at the table lads.

We won, they didn't,end of. As far as promotion goes I reckon you could pick from about 10 teams at the moment

I've had a wander into Lincoln forum too, horrible to navigate compared to ours and ads aplenty  Another plus point to being a rover

We did ride our luck.
They did outplay us.
I expect them to get promotion.
.
Sign of a good team when we can play as poorly as that and come away with 3 points.

I really hope we and Lincoln can get a march on the league and do each other a favour by beating off other clubs and protecting our positions.

It won't be easy for either club. We have some difficult mid table opponents to play away from home but we've shown we have the resolve too eek out results when not at our best.

You get these games in a season. We had plenty of them in 2012/13, but it’s all about finding different ways to win games. Sometimes you get the first goal and then just have to dig in for as long as you can.

If we’d have gone there all guns blazing, we would probably have got picked off because they move the ball around so well and have a lot of pace in their side.

We definitely had plenty of luck on our side today but when all is said and done, they failed to break us down. That’s not our problem!

We went there with a game plan, executed it and came home with the 3 points.

Don't know what they are moaning about.... ;)

We set up pretty well the only way we could with the players available.

There are key moments in a season where all that matters is the result. Not whether you dominate the opposition. Chances are, if that match was replayed 10 times, Lincoln would win 7-8 times.

But that's irrelevant.

That match only gets played once this season. We won it. 3 points closer.

Every game bar the first, if we have scored first, we have then gone onto win.  I can't even recall one where we have been pegged back and have then had to go on to grind out a win...
