Aye Foxbat. They do. Quite often it's folk with blinkered minds unwilling to challenge their own assumptions, prejudices and bigotries. We've all got 'em. The difference is some folk recognise it and accept challenges to them as a tool to improve their own understanding and knowledge. Others? They just shout louder and louder and louder in defiance of all the evidence under the sun. Closed minds. There's a cracking example on this thread. He's nailed his flag to the mast. We don't need to bother with his posturings.

Cheers Foxbat!

Shouldn't papers be all truth?

They should BB. They should. But they are owned by corporations owned by human beings. And human beings like to control. So things are slanted one way or another.....And then the power of the almighty dollar gets to inetefere too. Why do you think the Sun put that awful headline and story on its front page after Hillsbrough? Because it sells newspapers - and selling more newspapers generates more advertising revenue. Truth is a very early casualty, it becomes well nigh irrelevant, when it comes to commercial gain.

For someone who has been on this board less than 5 weeks, you dont half make a lot of noise for a bloke lacking eben a vestige of  intellect, wisdom, experience and humility. One or two folk have already attempted to warn you. Well, as we all learned the other night, your inability to read is going to get you into bother.

Think you need to calm down pal.

Sounds like you have thinly veiled a threat there..... Careful

Not sure why you seem intent on trying to bully me, but bullies never prosper.

I've read the Guardian all my life. Recently a friend challenged me on this so I now also read the FT and others as well. It's really interesting how they cover things and I now know if you want it unbiased read the FT or Economist. But the Guardian is still high quality. Others - DM, DT, Sun etc, - not worth anything. Just silly biased crap. Not news....

I've nothing against reading the guardian, or ANY newspaper.
It was a joke, if you know you know...

you just need to be aware of the political leanings of what newspaper your reading.

People believe what they want to believe. Newspapers are one-sidedly biased with most of their stories, and it is those stories that are selected and filtered down onto other outlets such as this forum as proof of the truth!

After reading the article I urge you all, if you haven't already, to scroll to the bottom & read the story from the Brentford fan. Great stuff.

Crikey, some serious over reactions on here.
Gedridorit was having a joke, emphasised by the winkie emoji.
It was in response to what someone said about the Sun newspaper a few days ago.

Poor old Copps. All he wanted to do was talk about mental awareness and his career, but he’s caused a right kerfuffle on here.
I bet he wishes he hadn’t bothered.
