We're paying big time for being left in the clart mid-season by Moore's abrupt departure.

One of the things that I thought DM brought to the club was a charismatic presence that attracted a lot of promising young players and one or two others that, quite possibly, would never have joined otherwise. Has that now led to cliques and division among the squad?

Whatever, it looks like DM's departure has highlighted the flaws in his approach.

AB hasn't been able to continue the momentum; although let's not forgot that the team had a dreadful month just before DM left.

If a more experienced 'name' had been appointed instead would that have kept us in the race for the play-offs? We'll never know but we've seen it before; a knee-jerk appointment, the newcomer comes in, loses a few and starts to craft a narrative around the squad not being good enough, the need to learn about the players, how they want to bring their own people in, positioning for next season etc.

To be fair to AB, he hasn't had the opportunity to write his own narrative but, then again, nor has he done much to earn the right.

Are these positives for the Board in that they now know where the flaws lie and what the club has to do to avoid being so exposed next season?
