I wondered if Simon Weaver may have been amongst the applicants. You can see why he’d have needed to defer an interview given Harrogate Town’s involvement in the FA Trophy on Monday.

Would be a good appointment in my opinion. He's from Donny too which is a bonus.

Interesting conversation to be had with his current employer though.....

Weaver and Bramall families both made their money in property development. TB is from Cadeby I think and Weavers High Melton. They almost certainly know each other.

David Healy, ex Rovers loan player is rumoured to be leaving champions elect Linfield ( Blue Shitte ) in N.Ireland, his next job in management will be with a full time professional team.

Another that would be a good shout.

On balance, I think Wellens would probably be my first choice from the names realistically linked.

It won't be Weaver, we would have to approach Harrogate Town first to speak to him and that would be reported in the press, plus it would mean us having to single him out as our preferred candidate which is completely against our recruitment strategy.

Whoever the new manager is, I highly doubt he is currently a #1 at another club. It'll be a mix of unemployed and those employed as coaches at other clubs, rather than as managers.

Not necessarily,
weaver could have applied for the job his boss is his dad so he could’ve quite easily told his dad that he fancied the job here

The thing with Weaver, is to what extent he sees Harrogate as the family business. If he feels he wants to show he can be a success elsewhere, then Rovers wouldn't be a bad start. It's his hometown club, he knows the owners and the set up and knows they'd give him time.

I would guess he's still very much commited to Harrogate though.

Harrogate aren't exactly known for playing attractive football but then again maybe we need to go back to basics.

that depends on who it is weather it’s a small swimsuit or not, if it was me it would be very small

The person I know who works at the club told me last night that Wellens has a very good chance at getting the job. This chance has increased with Copps being offer the Director of football role

No he hasn't. He's been offered a role but it's not that.

He might not have been but he could do a fine job of it, but it’s a part time job he has been offered to start with

They know each other very well.
I have been on many Polypipe business  trips when they have been in the group with us all.

Hoden has just ruled out Coleman, Mellon, Tisdale.

Says more than one candidate is currently managing.

Only Wellens or Clough for me then and I doubt Clough will have gone for it.

Tisdale the only real surprise for me there.

So who’s been ruled out now then?

Tisdale
Coleman
Mellon
Buckingham
Parkinson

Any more?

Eddie Howe, hilariously. And Jason Tindall. Danny Wilson is ruled out too.

Liam also said that Wellens is definitely one of the candidates in the running.

Given the regularity with which this process has unfortunately come around recently, I can't help thinking the club has missed an opportunity by not releasing a branded Guess Who? set.

"Is he currently managing?"

"No"

[Clack-clack-clack]

"Any League One experience?

"Yes"

[Clack-clack-clack]...

Paul Heckingbottom?

Scrap that. Just seen that he's caretaker manager at the Blades.

I haven't heard anything that would rule out Heckingbottom as a candidate, to be fair.

If Gary Megson isn't on the shortlist the board are off their effing rocker. Anyone who read his programme notes throughout the 90s will know his qualities.

Didn’t realise Coughlan had been ruled out.
